Phil Collins’ Son Simon Collins Arrested In England

Phil Collins’ eldest son Simon Collins was arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs.

The 37-year-old singer and drummer is reported was arrested in England on the weekend and questioned for suspected possession of Class B narcotics. However, he was released on bail later.

According to UK’s Misuse of Drugs Act, the Class A substances are drugs like the psychedelics, cocaine and opioids that includes painkiller oxycodone and heroin where as the Class B list contains amphetamines, marijuana and sedatives like Quaaludes.

Simon is the son of Phil’s first wife Andrea Bertorelli. He made his stage debut when he was just 12-year-old. During one of the shows of his dad he played the drums. His half-sister is Lily Collins.

Presently he fronts prog-rock band Sound of Contact. Dimensionaut is the debut album of the group and was released in 2013. The album was named as the Best New Group last September at the 2013 Progressive Music Awards.

Earlier this year when Simon was asked about the Genesis days of his dad he said, “So much of that material, it was groundbreaking back then and a lot of those songs were unprecedented.”

He added further that several other bands during those days had set the bar too high and bands like Genesis and Pink Floyd has influences on his own musical tastes.
