NASA plans to launch a spaceship to land over asteroid that could hit the earth

NASA has started a program to study the behaviour of asteroid and hence has plan to launch a spaceship in coming September, which according to the officials will land over an asteroid that could hit the earth in next 150 years.

According to sources, NASA scientists have started this program to understand the ‘chances of asteroid hitting the earth’.

The spaceship will land and record every possible movement which hence help the scientists in calculating whether the asteroid will hit the earth or not.

The mission is called as OSIRIS-Rex and it will be the first US Spacecraft to return a sample from asteroid. However, Japanese space agency has already collected samples in 2010.
