It looks like the venue of one of the most hotly anticipated weddings of the year has finally been revealed. Kim and Kaye West’s wedding is slated to take place in the sixteenth century Florence castle Forte Belvedre.

The Florence Mayor has officially confirmed that the couple rented the castle for 300,000 Euros ($410,000). The pair will marry in front of a thousand guests next weekend. The rapper has been staying outside Florence with his fashion designer friend Ermanio Scervino.

The couple’s alternative venue of choosing – the Palace of Versailles was denied to the couple for holding their marriage, when they had made the request while on an official tour in January. Even so, the couple is said to be hosting around a hundred people at Paris in a pre-wedding dinner, after which they are to be flown off to Florence.

The venue, the castle Forte Belvedre was built for the ruling Medici family of Florence. It has a dark history – two people fell off from the ramparts of the castle in 2006 and 2008 respectively, which forced the authorities to close the fortress, and was reopened only last year. It has been reported that a Protestant minister will be residing over the celebrity couple’s nuptials.

Kanye has reportedly said that he chose Florence as the surprise destination for their weeding, since the couple’s daughter North, was conceived there. Kanye certainly knows the city very well, as the clothes for his fashion label are made in the garments district of the city. The couple had also holidayed in the city back in 2012 to celebrate Kim’s 32nd birthday.
