Kerry Washington Makes First Public Appearance After Giving Birth To Baby Girl

Kerry Washington gave a birth to beautiful daughter Isabelle Amarachi earlier this year in April and since then she was away from media until now.

The new mom made her first public appearance on the red carpet at Women in Film’s Crystal + Lucy Awards at L.A.’s Hyatt Regency Century Plaza today. She was presented with the Lucy Award by Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes.

The Scandal star looked gorgeously beautiful. She was in Max Mara cocktail dress having black short-sleeve top with plunging neckline and multicolored bottom.

Washington was accompanied with her husband and former NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha.

The two wed last year in June very secretly and welcomed a baby girl on April 21 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. For eleven days both kept the baby news under wraps.

For the first time today the star spoke publicly about motherhood on a video chat with one of the leading media houses.

One of her fans tweeted a question to Washington asking whether it will be a bittersweet to go back to work.

She said, “So tricky, because you know I don’t talk about this stuff… I just feel really blessed that I’m kind of living extraordinary dreams come true in my work life and in my personal life.”

After about a month giving birth to baby girl Washington said she won’t be talking about her personal life on Twitter but she sees the tweets of fans and she is filled with gratitude.
