It has been nearly two decades since Jennifer Aniston debuted ‘The Rachel’ on Friends, but the world is still talking about the actress’ iconic haircut.
The actress’s feelings about that particular changed over the years, but the star says that she is just glad now that does not need to maintain that layered look herself. The actress joked during an ABC interview that the blow-dryer and the hairbrush were just not meant for her, and says that it really was a hairdo.
Chris McMillan, Aniston’s longtime hairstylist had given her the hair make-over. The actress said that when Chris would do her hair, it would always look great, but when she did it herself, it would never look the same. The movie star, now 45, says that these days she prefers to keep a low-maintenance hairstyle which would be possible to maintain with a hair-wash every other day, or every three days.
Jennifer says that it is ironic to have one of the most talked about hairstyles in Hollywood. She says that in a way it is funny and entertaining, and also flattering, but she says that she has a chuckle every time she hears people talking about her great hair, adding that as a kid it was always challenging for her to have good hair.
Aniston had called the cut a disaster back in 2011, when talking to Allure, she said the she thought it was one of the ugliest haircuts she had ever seen, wondering how that thing got legs. She had later clarified to WWD that all anyone ever wanted to know was that particular hairstyle, and all Chris was ever asked to do. She said at the time she had liked it, but started outgrowing it after eight months, although the hairstyle had become so popular by then that it wouldn’t just die.
