The engagement of George Clooney to British lawyer Amal Alamuddin has thrilled people outside and also in his family.
Talking to E! News his father Nick Clooney, a veteran broadcaster, said they are pleased and are excited as they like Amal. The whole family is now thrilled for them.
He added further that the Oscar winner as well as the 36-year-old Oxford-educated beauty are wonderful people and the family hope for them to have a good life. This is their day.
The two have been dating hardly for seven months and now plans for marriage.
Alamuddin’s law firm, Doughty Street Chambers, congratulated the two in a released statement.
This is the second marriage for 52-year-old Clooney. He was married to Talia Balsam in 1989 and got divorced in 1993.
Meanwhile, Clooney’s mom Nina, 74, was caught saying she is extremely happy for them as Amal is a lovely girl.
Nina said she had met Amal first time about a year ago and commented she has brains and beauty.
Clooney and Alamuddin were first time reported to have been linked romantically last year in October. The two looked cozy at a dinner party. Before, Clooney was also found dating Stacy Keibler. They were spotted together several times for about two years and last year in July both called off the relationship.
Currently Keibler is married to Jared Pobre and she is carrying her first child with him too.
Amal was born in Lebanon and grew up in Great Britain. Her family fled to London from war-torn Beirut when she was just two years old. She also has three siblings younger to her – one sister Tala and two brothers named Samer and Ziad.
