Someone has attacked Anwan Glover, the actor of ‘The Wire’ early Sunday at a Washington D.C. nightclub.
Tiffany Turner, manager of the actor and musician, has confirmed the attack after a performance by his musical group at an event at a concert venue in Columbia, Md. He said several unknown people attacked him.
Police report says the actor is admitted to the George Washington University Hospital. He is being treated for a laceration on the right side of his torso. However, his condition was not revealed immediately.
According to Glover, unknown person punched him when he was on the second floor of Cafe Asia club. Immediately another unknown person did the same and he slipped and fallen down. The attack didn’t stop here. Even on the floor he was kicked in series.
Turner added further, “Anwan is no stranger to challenges and struggle, he has overcome many… It is unfortunate that a ‘man of the people’ or anyone for that matter, cannot attend events without the possibility of injury just by being a bystander.”
The actor and musician recently appeared in “12 Years A Slave,” the movie in that won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Glover lives in the outskirts of Upper Marlboro, Md. He was born in the capital.
It is also reported Glover was shot thirteen times in the District’s Columbia Heights neighborhood from his childhood to adulthood journey.
