The 2014 Daytime Emmy Awards is scheduled to be held on June 22. This is the 41st annual ceremony and it honors from talks shows to soap operas to cooking programs to news, home improvement shows, game shows and almost everything.

This year the even will debut two new categories namely Outstanding New Approaches Drama Series and Outstanding Entertainment News.

Last year the broadcasting of the event was moved to cable channel HLN and statistic reveals around 913,000 viewers tuned in. In 2011 it was televised on CBS and more than 5 million viewers watched the awards function.

The Young and the Restless is leading this year all the shows. It has a total of 26 nominations. The Ellen Degeneres Show has managed to earn 9 nominations and Sesame Street has received 15.

National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences chairman Malachy Wienges said issuing a press statement today that they are confident the expert team will flawlessly execute the event and allow fans to be a part of it.
