Teresa Giudice surrendered earlier today under charges of fraud and hiding income to support a lavish lifestyle.
She is reality TV star and was in “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” series. The surrender has been confirmed by her lawyer’s office James J. Leonard Jr. as well as from a prison spokesman. She surrendered at the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury, Connecticut.
Earlier in March last year she and husband Giuseppe Giudice entered plea deals in U.S. District Court. The two admitted bankruptcy fraud and lying to obtain loans.
Guidice pleaded guilty for failing to file tax of around $1 million.
Giudice, better known as Joe, has been sentenced to fifteen months in prison and her husband a 41-month sentence. The reality star will be serving the sentence first as they have four daughters and need child care.
Leonard said, “She was ready… Teresa is a very strong woman, she won’t have any problems in there.”
The reality star paid around $120,000 in cash to furnish a room in their house. There are several other such lavish spending which the two didn’t reveal while filing the income tax.
