The X Factor show on Saturday night turned emotional when Cheryl Fernandez-Versini was reduced to tears.
She was reminded of her older sister Gilian Tweedy when singer Monica Michael sang a touchy original song called ‘Pretty Little Sister’.
The 24-year-old Monica sang tribute to her 16-year-old sibling that had reference to her regrets as rebellious youth.
Cheryl remembered her own past life when her sister would pen down some poems to her. She said Monica the song has touched her really.
The young singer introduced herself as a youth worker with a turbulent childhood. Singing was a saving grace for her.
The vocalist said, “Growing up I found it hard to stand out sometimes and I rebelled really badly. Music was the only way I felt better – it saved me.”
Monica was dressed in a strong ensemble of combat trousers paired with a leather jacket. She had dark eye make-up and her ears had large hoop earrings.
Before her performance she was asked about which single may help her achieve a number one. She answered her own Pretty Little Sister track. She further said jokingly her sister would love her penned track or would kill her for writing such song it.
Her song was too touchy. The chorus was like this: “Pretty little sister, I want to say I love you’ and concludes by saying that her sister had ‘saved her.”
