Malik Bendjelloul, the Oscar winning director died at 36

Director of the Oscar wining music documentary for Sugar Man, died at the age of 36 on Tuesday. According to the police officials, the Swedish film maker died in Stockholm without any specific reason of death.

No offensive practice has been suspected and there is no proof or evidence of criminal activity to be responsible for his death. Film industry is shocked to hear about the death of Malik; Sony Pictures Classics’ co-presidents showed resentment on Tuesday stating that they are sad to hear about this shocking news. Their hearts go out to his family and friends. Malik was really an adorable man with passion for film making. He did not ever chase fame, awards or fortune as he was really a genuine personality to chase the world for story-telling.

At the age of 10, he cast in a TV serial directed by his uncle. Malik, studied at a media college and started film making (short documentaries) for Swedish national television. About Sugarman, he told that this was the best story I ever told to friends; it’s nothing lesser than a fairy tale. He won Oscar with co-producer Simon Chinn for the best featured documentary in 2013. That film also won awards from BAFTA.
