Jackie Chan’s Son Arrested Over Drug Charges

Jackie Chan’s son is detained by cops in Beijing city of China on Wednesday on drug charges.

Ashamed and saddened, the Hong Kong film star apologized to the public on Twitter over Jaycee Chan’s arrest saying his son would need to face the consequences of his actions.

He wrote, “Regarding this issue with my son Jaycee, I feel very angry and very shocked. As a public figure, I’m very ashamed. As a father, I’m heartbroken.”

The 31-year-old Jaycee Chan was detained together with 23-year-old Taiwanese film star Kai Ko. This is the latest high-profile celebrities being detained on drug charges in China in last two decades or more.

According to cops, both of them were tested positive for marijuana and they have admitted too about using the drug. Also, around 100 grams of the drug were recovered from Chan’s home.

Jackie Chan wrote further on Twitter, “Jaycee and I together express our deep apology to society and the public.”

Local media in the country reported that Jackie Chan and Ko’s fathers went to meet their sons earlier this week. However, this report has not yet been confirmed from any reliable source.

Jackie Chan was anti-drug ambassador in 2009 by Beijing. He is a high-profile figure in mainland China and earned his fame from his acting and singing career.

He said all the young people will learn a lesson from the arrest of his son and stay away from drugs.

The younger Chan has appeared in about twenty movies. However, most of the films were of low-budget in Hong Kong and Chinese productions.

His mother is former Taiwanese actress Lin Fang-jiao and he was raised in LA.
