FDA issues guidelines for the restaurants in order to cut salt consumption

Food and Drug Authority of United States has issued guidelines for the major restaurant and fast food giants in order to reduce the salt consumption.

It has been reported that the FDA has asked to cut the amount of salt mixed with several packed foods.

An official from the department said “we Americans consume almost 50 percent more salt than recommended by most expert, which eventually become reason for several health issue including heart attack”.

He added that companies should allow customers to add salt from their side, if they want extra.

Several food companies, such as Campbell Soup Co , General Mills Inc and Kraft Heinz Co have already started implementing the guidelines by cutting the amount of salt used in their foods.
