British Royal Family Making Way To France For D-Day Commemoration

Even as Kim Kardashian celebrates before her marriage in France to rapper Kanye West , it has been reported that the British royal family is making their way round to France.

Queeen Elizabeth II, Prince William and Kate Middleton will be among the royal who would coming to France for the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of D-Day. The official rlease from the palace of Buckingham has stated that the visit will take place from the 5th of June to the 7th of June, and will begin with the ceremonial arrival and welcome of the royal family by the President of France, Francois Hollande, at the Arc de Triompe, which will be followed up with meetings at The Elysee Palace. The same evening the Queen will be hosted at a garden party to celebrate her coming to France by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to France, at the British Residence in Paris.

Prince Charles and his wife, the duchess of Cornwall, will also be taking part in the trip. The royal family will met the family of the several veterans of WWIIin Normandy, where the famous D-Day landing took place to regain control of European territory that was seized by Hitler’s forces. Prince William and Kate will also be meeting the family and veterans at a tea party in the town of Arromanches, before they attend the official celebrations.

The D-Day landing of Allied forces took place on the 6th of June, 1944, on the beaches of Normandy, and was instrumental in recapturing France from the occupying German forces, and had a tremendous impact on operations of World War 2.
