Yet we have heard several stories of people getting under arrested by police or some other officers but in Pakistan, a banyan tree is under custody.
Not for one or two days, it has been in custody for more than 100 years.
Well, here is the story:
#1 It’s been said that in 1898, a drunk British officer (Pakistan was part of India, which was ruled by British), James Squid, thought that the tree was ‘moving’.
#2 Hence, to teach a lesson, he ordered his officers to arrest the tree.
#3 Since then, the tree has been put under arrest with a board hanging on it, which read “I am under arrest”.
